Common questions

Most prep is built around long reading sessions that are hard to keep up alongside a full-time job. PrepQuest breaks the material into focused lessons and pairs them with timed quizzes, streaks, and a daily study target, so steady progress is easier to sustain. Yes. One account and one subscription cover all three levels. When you move on to Level 2, your dashboard, XP, and achievements carry over, and there's nothing new to buy.
A Boss Battle is the 50-question test at the end of each topic. It unlocks once you've completed every lesson in that topic. There are no hints, each question has a 60-second limit, and you need 70% to pass. After each answer you see a full explanation, so you know exactly what to review before you retake it.
The Final Boss is a full-length practice exam covering an entire level, timed to the session lengths CFA Institute publishes. Level 1 has two 90-question sessions. Level 2 has 22 item sets across two sessions. Level 3 has pathway-specific essay questions in the first session and item sets in the second. Each level has three versions, so you can take one, review your results, and take another closer to your exam. A Boss Battle tests a single topic; the Final Boss tests the whole level.
Yes. Your account, XP, and progress are kept regardless of your subscription status. If you cancel, you keep access to the free content, and resubscribing restores full Pro access immediately.

Yes. PrepQuest covers both the 2026 and 2027 CFA curricula for all three levels. Select your exam year in the top bar to match your registration. When CFA Institute publishes new topic outlines and learning outcome statements each year, we update the content to match. The 2026 content will be retired after the November 2026 exam window.
